Introduction

I partnered with a UK-based charity to provide coaching support to the Chief Executive Officer and management team. The engagement began with 13 sessions for the CEO, followed by coaching three members of the management team for three sessions each, with one renewing for a further three.

Coaching Approach

At the start, each coachee defined personalised coaching goals, with the management team members aligning theirs together with the CEO. We revisited these goals in sessions regularly to track progress. Sessions were always confidential, yet management team members were encouraged to share reflections with the CEO.

Each coachee completed my intake process to clarify objectives and capture baseline perspectives. Across the coaching journey, I integrated a blend of evidence-based tools and approaches, including:

  • VIA Character Strengths

  • PERMAH Wellbeing Framework

  • Personality assessments

  • Accomplishment reviews and reflection practices

  • Tailored resources and strategies for individual needs

Outcome

Through the process, all coachees had the opportunity to reflect on their strengths and identify practical strategies for growth and wellbeing improvements.

Feedback: All those who attended the sessions with Kelly reported that they benefitted from the coaching. All felt that they learnt the areas where they needed to improve their effectiveness and that after the course they had improved those areas.

Personally, as CEO I initially felt scepticism about whether this coaching was needed, and whether I needed to learn anything else about managing business and people. However, after the initial sessions I started to recognise that I could improve, and these sessions and the constant review of my progress really helped me to recognise how I could develop my aptitude for people management.

Our business model and performance as a management team improved considerably as a result of the coaching received.
